June 11, 2024, Chicago, IL – The German American Chambers of Commerce (GACCs) have named Matthias Amberg, Partner at Rödl & Partner USA, as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Mr. Amberg takes the helm of the leading organization promoting trade and investment between Germany and US. He was introduced as Chairman at the annual German American Business Forum in Hannover, Germany. Representing over 2,000 members, the GACC Chairman is the spokesperson for key topics affecting transatlantic trade and investment. Mr. Amberg is supported by two Vice Chairs: Crispin Teufel, CEO of National Seating & Mobility, who serves as the GACC South Chair, and Volker Baer, CEO of Wurth Group of North America Inc., who serves as Chair of GACC New York.
Amberg simultaneously serves as the Chairman of the German American Chamber of Commerce® of the Midwest (GACC Midwest). Originally from Dortmund, Germany, Amberg is a German Steuerberater and US CPA and Partner at Rödl & Partner in the US, based in Chicago. With over 20 years of extensive public accounting experience in Germany and primarily in the US, Matthias focuses on advising Mittelstand companies from the German speaking countries within various industries such as manufacturing, distribution, construction, pharmaceuticals, food, retail, and technology on their US tax and accounting matters.
“I have a passion for strengthening the transatlantic business relationship and I’m eager to lead the charge to collaborate and support German companies in the US as they continue to succeed and grow,” Amberg said. “I’m looking forward to our very first nationwide German American Executive Summit in February 2025, GACC’s new premier national event for the German American Business Community in the US which was initiated under the leadership of my predecessor, Jan Heck.”
